Alone

Inside the mind, An inferno.

Fire and heat burning always.

as the waves of loss rush in and out.

blistering thoughts

scalding glances,

scorching feelings,

shattering pain

Is that all you have given me?

To remember and cherish?

fear and anger and hatred

despising you through and through

and yet ..

ravaging times does not stop your cruel memories from

scratching my surface

peeling my layers off,

stripping the bark off,

exposing the naked self,

Leaving me floundering and asking

Why did you burn me so when i never wanted  it?

Your sadistic delight in torture

is the best and worst of you.

Your cruelty is my secret pleasure

My slavishness is your delight.

Chains of torture.

rhythms of sacrifice and pillage

in sync.

We hate as we love

two faces of the same

two hearts and one soul

entwined in bitterness

rage, and  despair

and yet love as love never was

nor will be..

Alone in despondency and bitterness

nurturing my hate as my love

Alone.
